Cake Cake Cake

apple cake

I only just got dressed and all the attempts to photograph myself in my dress minus tights were a bit too scandalous, and I really can't find the energy to put any on. After yesterday's skid down the path I am aching all over. So I present you with exceedingly moist apple cake, to soothe my soul! From this wonderful recipe by Afeitar; I had a nice big chunk with a cup of fresh coffee. Whichever nation first came up with coffee and cakes, I salute them. Who needs tea and scones?

  1. "Determined British grannies" would be an answer to your rhetorical question. Although that statement is not entirely true as scones are of Scottish origin, and tea (assuming black tea), depending on its type, can be of several origins and most of which were imported.
The earliest apple pie dates back to late 1300s which was a classic English pudding, so a salute would be most appropriate.

  3. Ooooh I love that cake! It is so moist isn't it? I should make that again soon - I keep having urges to bake then feel guilty because I have so much work to do.

  4. Me too! This was a case of cake or Wordsworth, and I have had major cravings for apple cake. Best recipe ever.
